Warning .. Not All Herpes Treatments Are “Created Equal”
Treatment for Genital Herpes
There are three antiviral medications that are FDA-approved for the treatment of genital herpes:..But are they all good for You ??
The oldest antiviral medication for herpes is acyclovir. It has been available since 1982 in a topical form (as an ointment) and sold since 1985 in pill form. Acyclovir has been shown to be safe in persons who have used it continuously (every day) for as long as 10 years.
A newer drug, valacyclovir, actually uses acyclovir as its active ingredient. This medication delivers acyclovir more efficiently so that the body absorbs much of the drug, which has the advantage of taking the medication fewer times during the day.
Famciclovir uses penciclovir as its active ingredient to stop HSV from replicating. Like valacyclovir, it is well absorbed, persists for a longer time in the body, and can be taken less frequently than acyclovir.
Antiviral medication is commonly prescribed for patients having a first episode of genital herpes, but they can be used for recurrent episodes as well.
There are 2 kinds of treatment regimens: episodic therapy and suppressive therapy.
In this approach, a person begins taking medication at the first sign of an outbreak (or ideally at first signs of prodrome) and continues taking medication for several days, in order to speed healing or even prevent an outbreak from fully occurring.
People with genital herpes who want to eliminate (suppress) outbreaks can take antiviral medication daily to hold HSV in check so that it’s less likely to flare up and cause symptoms.
these solutions only ‘help control’ your outbreaks,,,, they don’t claim to be “a cure”. They only hide the signs of your illness, tackling the apparent symptoms but not the underlying cause.

…and, a Second Warning !!
Not only do these medications fail to cure the underlying cause of HSV , they have also been associated with unpleasant side-effects (see below)
“The Valtrex made me feel constantly nauseated, like I was going to puke.”
“So I switched to Acyclovir, but that was even worse as I quickly started noticing that my hair was falling out in clumps…”
“I researched Famvir, but found out it caused dizziness, drowsiness and even kidney problems…”
And on top of all of this, there was still the obvious but deeply frustrating fact that:
NONE Of These Medications Actually Cured The Herpes Virus…
They Simple Masked The Symptoms While Making You Sick…

About Acyclovir for Herpes
Even though acyclovir is meant to be an effective antiviral drug, it should not be mistaken as a cure. The medication can treat outbreaks, but the infection remains inside of the body between each outbreak instance. This means that the drug is a form of management, allowing for those who suffer from herpes to live more comfortably.
Additionally, the drug can help sores heal faster and soothe outbreak areas, preventing future sores from forming while decreasing the local pain and itching. For individuals who suffer from a weaker immune system, taking acyclovir can help contain the virus, limiting its spread to other body parts, which greatly reduces the risks of especially serious infections.
Acyclovir Side Effects
There are several side effects that can occur during dosage period, though they are usually mild in severity. It is highly recommended to keep your body well hydrated while taking the medication. Nausea is one of the most common side effects. If you feel it worsening or persisting after your body adjusts to the medication, you should inform your doctor. While these are rarer, it is crucial to be aware of any signs of kidney damage, mental or mood changes, unusual amounts of dizziness and drowsiness, and difficulty speaking.
The rarest of all side effects are also among the most severe, and it is extremely unlikely that the doctor would prescribe the medication if you were at risk for any severe side effects. However, it is important to keep in mind that the medication can very rarely cause life threatening disorders that affect the kidneys and blood cells. Seeking out medical attention is vital if you experience extreme fatigue or any irregular changes in your heartbeat. Similarly, be aware of the possibilities of kidney damage and severe stomach or abdominal pain, as well as sudden vision changes, seizures, and sudden loss of consciousness.
